While Ms. Fields plans to major in journalism at UNR this fall, and has her sights set on a screenwriting career, music played a big role in that decision. “I like to play music because it gives me a creative outlet.  It allows me to enjoy music and movies more. Playing music has contributed to my love of movies and my goal to be a screenwriter.”

The Rotary Club of Carson City hosts the annual Music Competition to encourage and support talented young musicians. This week’s competition featured students from High Schools and Rotary Clubs around the area.  Ms. Fields will advance to the District Competition in South Lake Tahoe at the end of April. Each round of the competition awards cash prizes.
