The Rotary Club of Carson City grew by two more members this week. Lucia Maloney and John Barrette decided to make a bigger difference in Carson City and the world. Rotary has grown from four members in 1905 to 1.4 million members in 218 countries and territories in the world. The Rotary Club of Carson City has funded a walking labyrinth at the Carson Cancer Center, furniture for the FISH student housing, trees for Carson City, a study area at Western Nevada College, bus stop enclosures, a greenhouse at Pioneer High School, a robotics class and a hydroponics class at local schools. This is a small sample of projects completed in our city. The club also awards Student of the week and Teacher of the month prizes. Scholarships are awarded to local residents every year.
