Drawing on Community Support

Capital City BrewfestOur Capital City Brewfest

During a Saturday in June, three dozen dedicated Rotarians move into the area around McFadden Plaza and Curry Street in downtown Carson City, transforming it into a row of more than 25 craft breweries, food trucks, music and fun for a thousand or more Carson City residents.

The breweries bring in their golden elixirs from all around northern Nevada and the Lake Tahoe area. From right in Carson City, you'll find Shoe Tree, The Fox, Union and several others. Brewfest attendees donate a $30 entry fee to sample as much as they want during our event, and to enjoy the evening. Last year, 2018, was remarkable in that the Brewfest preceded the opening night of the Leavitt-Amp Summer Concerts at the Brewery Arts Center, so the Brewfest organizers made sure their event was wrapped up, so everyone who wanted could walk a few short blocks and join in the fun, free concert.

This year's Brewfest will also take over Curry Street, and the attractions are many, including one of Carson City's own local favorites on Stage at the McFadden Plaza Pavilion - Mo'z Motley Blues, featuring Mylo McCormick on the blues guitar.

It's easy to find pretty, smiling faces there.
The Brewfest brings out people of all ages.

IT'S MARDI GRAS TIME!

Carson Rotarian Gen Frederick and her husband Ray got in the spirit of Mardi Gras during our special event and fundraiser last Spring 2019, during our Costume Contest.

The event also included a silent auction, dinner and dancing at the Casino Fandango during a night of friendship and fun.

Contributions to our fundraising efforts go to support our projects, grants and scholarship programs, and they are greatly appreciated as well as tax-deductible in some cases, since Rotary is a not-for-profit organization.
